A Quick Checklist for Ramadan

1.      Make a resolve to win the maximum favour of Allah: perform extra voluntary prayers, make frequent Du’a and increase remembrance.
2.      Try to recite some Quran after every Prayer. Study the Quranic Tafseer every morning.
3.      Bring life to your family! Everyday, try to conclude the fast with your family and spend some quality time together to understand each other better.
4.      Commit to an Islamic study circle to enhance your Islamic knowledge and practice.
5.      Seek the rare and oft-neglected rewards of ‘the night better than a 1000 months’, Laylatul-Qadr.
6.      Remember the Prophet’s warning that lying, backbiting, and a lustful gaze all violate the fast! Abandon foul language forever.
7.      Play the role of a Da’ee with passion and sympathy.

Can I Listen to Islamic Nasheeds?

What is the ruling on Nasheeds commonly amongst many of the youth, which they call 'Islamic Nasheeds'? If these Nasheeds have Islamic meanings whilst not having in them any musical instruments such as duffs, other drums, then there is no problem in this.

Likewise, it diverts them from seeking beneficial knowledge and calling to Allah.
